I couldn’t select the opposite position. I was facing south on my deck. It can from the north east and looked like it was landing south/ southwest. I have observed many falling stars in my day but have never witnessed a ball with fire in the back of it. Red/yellow. If I hadn’t been looking at the sky I would have missed it. No precursor sound or anything after it cleared my vision. I have had 2 glasses of wine so it was not a figment of my imagination or hallucination. First time I’ve ever seen this in my life! Beautiful yet scary at the same time. Wondering where it made contact on our planet.
